5 Ways To Buy Valuable Things And Sell Them For Profit

Become an Expert, or at least have a clue

There are many things in this world that are valuable and can be found in your home, a thrift store or at a garage sale . But you are not armed with the knowledge to see these things. Sometimes it only takes a little knowledge to make a fortune.

Here are a few examples:

A Civil War era quilt sold for more than $260,00.00

A Thomas Chippendal commode sold for nearly 6 million dollars

A 1943 copper penny can be worth up to $100,000.00

Text book finds in thrift stores can make you easy money

Old glass bottles can be valuable

Antique chocolate candy molds are valuable also

Unconventional Ebay Searching

Searching for eBay items that are worth more money than they are asking may seem impossible but it is not if you search unconventionally.

Here are a few “unconventional” search Terms:

  • Old Stuff
  • Old Tube
  • Vintage circle
  • war thing
  • war stuff
  • brass cup
  • shiny old box

By searching with odd keywords you are looking for people selling things that they really do not know what they are. I have picked up some really nice WWII artifacts for next to nothing this way. Look at the pictures closely and do your research online if you find something that looks valuable or interesting.

Craigslist Gallery View

Craigslist ads can make you money also. I picked up an antique trunk for $125 dollars that I sold for almost $3,000 dollars. Make sure that you check the free ads. If you turn on “gallery view” you will just see pictures of everything that people are selling rather than just text and it makes it much easier to find valuable things.

Estate Sales

Sometimes you can get a killer deal at estate sales. Most of the time it is because the estate sale company has overlooked something or just has no clue something that a particular item is valuable. Look for sales at www.estatesales.net. They list just about every sale in the United State and on there site they have pictures of most of the items being sold. This makes it easy to pick out a good sale with items that you know are worth money.

Look Around You

Driving down the road and see something neat, interesting or unique in the side of the road? Stop, take a look at and ask if it is for sale.  Worst they can say is no. Have you ever been in a store where there are pictures, decorations and signs plastered all over the walls and ceilings? Look at all that stuff and make an offer on something if you know that it has value.
