My name is Matt Douthit and I am the owner of Antique Trunks and Chests. I pride myself on providing the the best restoration services and newly crafted trunks on the market. I love pushing the limits of perfection in every trunk restoration or custom build I do for my clients.
My Values are modeled after the “Greatest Generation” of the 1940’s during World War II. Tom Brokaw once said this about that generation “These men and women fought not for fame and recognition, but because it was the right thing to do.” I believe in doing the right thing by demonstrating honest and ethical business practices while maintaining the highest degree of quality in my antique restorations and handcrafted trunks.
My Mission is to offer you a breathtaking product that will become a family heirloom for many generations. I feel more than obligated to our forefathers to use the highest quality materials and craftsmanship when crafting or restoring a trunk. Perfection is my obsession from start to finish on every trunk.
My Craftsmanship is going beyond just using quality materials, it’s a way of life and a commitment. It takes knowledge, skill and most of all a love for what I do. Everything I do is by hand, in many ways the same way it was done over 100 years ago. I may use modern adhesives and veneering methods but the principles remains the same. I put my heart and soul into everything that I do and expect nothing less than a perfect product that will last for many years to come.
